9.0Stylish rooms, beautiful lobby and communal spaces, a decent functional gym and incredibly located in Manhattan - was perfect for our stay.

I will stay somewhere else next time in order to get a decent night of sleep. It's a real shame.
5.0Freehand is quirky and fun to visit, and well situated. Comfortable bed, decently roomy.
− The noise. It sounded like bulldozers moving rocks at 4:00 AM for no obvious reason -- MASSIVE noise kept me awake. Rooms are dark, light switches are in weird places and don't work well, and if you don't keep all the lights on it's too easy to bump into doors or tables. But the noise was the worst. And the plastic around the window A/C unit rattled and creaked and leaked a draft of cold air all night long.

8.0Great location and lively lobby with access to free filtered water and 2 attached restaurants. Comfortable bed. Great for laying your head down after a busy city day. A/C worked well and plenty of hot water for shower. Room was clean, lots of towels. High end soap. Good location, easy to walk nearly anywhere...
− Tiny room and tiny bathroom. I was alone so it was manageable, but not sure how 2 people could fit into the space comfortably. My window was to an alley facing other hotel rooms. One of the lights in the room made a buzzing sound.
Fantastic 3 days, 3 nights. This will become my regular
