So this new hotel has tremendous potential, once they work out some operational issues. The first floor restaurant and bar are very well designed, but unfortunately the hotel management tries to close off the restaurant from the hotel by closing very thick curtains. The hotel also has a fabulous 2nd floor speakeasy bar, that I was not even aware of because it is not well marked and the hotel staff did not bother to inform me about upon check-in. Even though I was at the hotel for a three night stay, I was also completely unaware that they have what must be a fabulous rooftop bar overlooking Dupont Circle and downtown DC. The rooms and hotel decor were also very beautiful and well designed. The hotel is also perfectly located next to the Dupont Circle Metro Redline.

− While I have significant complaints about my first stay at SixtyDC, I fully intend to come back to this cool hotel with the hope that they resolve these new hotel opening problems, including the late night check-in process that was completely unacceptable. Upon a late night 10pm check-in, the hotel door was locked with no doorbell to alert the check-in desk that there was a guest trying to check-in. I literally had to pound on the window, to try to get their attention to open the door. There is, of course, a simple solution to this situation, which is to add a buzzer/doorbell to their main entrance, which i fully expect will occur in time for my next visit to DC. Again, SixtyDC has the potential to become one of the coolest hotels in DC, if they can get their act together.
