“Een prachtig, modern en comfortabel appartement. Alles was schoon en netjes bij aankomst. De inrichting is stijlvol en er staan kwalitatief goede meubels, wat echt bijdraagt aan het comfort. Van vaatwastabletten tot wasmiddel was aanwezig. We hebben ons hier erg prettig gevoeld en zouden zeker nog een keer terugkomen. Een echte aanrader!”

− I would strongly advise anyone considering booking with Charles Hope Apartments to think twice. We had a confirmed booking in Manchester for 8–9 August. We travelled to the property and actually arrived for check-in, only to receive a phone call telling us that they had lost the keys to our apartment and could no longer accommodate us. What makes this even more frustrating is that this could potentially have been dealt with hours earlier. The previous guests’ check-out time was 11:00, so there was plenty of opportunity to establish that there was a problem and contact us before we travelled to the property. Instead, we were allowed to arrive before being told. We were then told that we had to contact Booking.com ourselves, despite having booked through Booking.com, and get them to contact Charles Hope to cancel the booking. We were essentially left to sort out the consequences of a problem that was entirely on their side. We were left scrambling to find alternative accommodation at the last minute and ended up booking the Aloft by Marriott on the other side of Manchester. We had specifically chosen Charles Hope because we needed to be in that particular area, so being forced to stay on the other side of the city was a major inconvenience. The replacement accommodation also cost us more and, instead of the apartment we had specifically booked, we ended up in a hotel room without the facilities we had originally paid for. The situation also completely disrupted our plans. We had a 16:30 reservation at a bar, which we had to miss because we were dealing with this situation, finding alternative accommodation and travelling across Manchester. To make matters worse, after all of this, I have only received a £116.79 credit through Booking.com, despite having paid €279.63, I am still waiting on a full refund.
