Decent location in San Diego
5.0Had old school vibe . Right in heart of downtown could walk to dining , shops, Padres stadium .
− Valet parking only or street parking. Valet was $62 a night and the Valet staff was horrible! Slow and rude . Hotel staff in general was not friendly with exception of guy in bar in evening after game .

10.0Love the REAL wood features of this historic hotel. Close to convention center and the Rady shell for concerts.
− The air conditioner was loud and interrupted my sleep but all things considered, we were still charmed by the place and the kind and helpful staff

− Rooms a little dark but expected due to age and furnishings matching the history of the hotel. Staff were a little unfriendly but dealt with queries efficiently.
Beautiful hotel and friendly staff
8.0The architecture and history of the hotel were the primary reasons for my desire to stay there. The hotel was beautiful, located in a great area, and the staff was friendly. Our small balcony overlooked the courtyard, and the overall ambiance was very comfortable. I’m grateful for the stay and hope to return soon.
− Our room had either a gas smell or perhaps the building’s plumbing had a smell. I’m not sure which it was, but it wasn’t uncomfortable enough to notify the staff or change rooms.
