Location ok; Capitol Hill was recommended by friends who are residents, and, while there are restaurants nearby, it is more of a great place to live than to stay as a visitor.

I wish I had read the negative reviews more carefully before choosing the place. The bathrooms, while private, are separate from the bedroom; the space in between is entirely public. Some rooms are on the third flr., with no elevator; would have been good to know in advance. The shared kitchen, on the first flr., was dirty, filthy chairs, and filled with bags of garbage that I guess the maid was collecting from the rooms (while nowhere to throw out my own bit of kitchen garbage). The steps and landings were consistently dirty. Then there was the simple lack of thoughtfulness in the arrangement: mugs that did not fit the coffee maker in the room (one also cracked, perhaps because the last visitor had tried to force it); no chairs in the room; no hooks or bars to hang towels in the bathroom. Game of Thrones paraphernalia (!) took up room that was not available. The worst part was the owner's demanding and rigid nature. The link demanding a whole slew of information (selfies, photos of credit cards, etc., etc.) came as soon as I made the reservation. I hastened then to fill it out, only to find that it also demanded a $200 deposit (?!)--and/but--a deposit that couldn't even be paid until the day before, at which point 1. I was hounded for it while on vacation, warned I couldn't check in until it was approved; 2. I had to then RE-fill out all the info I had already completed; 3. the system wasn't working for the whole day before, so I _couldn't_ fill it out; 4. when I told the owner this, he kept telling me to just send the images via his message system--despite my telling him there was no way to attach images this way--all stopping my vacation for over an hour. WORST--I asked for the window screen to be properly inserted so that it wouldn't RATTLE ALL NIGHT; was told he required a _photo_ for it to be done, no matter that I was out of the room for the day.

Terrible, checkout early

Worse than a dorm room, have to use a code to get into the bathroom. No chair. Below the bare minimum

Great little room

8.0

Location was great. Great and greatest value for the money. Many amenities, including laundry. Theres a mini fridge in every room, and coffee maker (Nespresso). You would not need to go out and meet the other guests at all if the bathroom wasn't outside the room because the room has everything you could possibly need. Owner is very nice and cares about offering a good service.

The picture shows like the bathroom is inside the room but its not always true. There are 9 rooms in total but only 3 of them have the bathroom within the room. The other 6, you'd have to exit to the shared area to access them. They are still private because only you have the code and can access it, but I expected different, as I checked different rooms from the same building and purposely wanted the one with the bathroom inside. For this main reason, I wouldn't really recommend it for solo ladies traveling, as it's a shared space and you have to constantly enter shared areas to go to the bathroom. There were many other guests, and they were super loud. Phones ringing all night, some people screaming and some even sounded like they were drilling in the middle of the night. None of this is the owners fault though, it's just rude people that don't follow the rules. Considering Seattle can be super sunny up until 9 PM and sun comes out really early during summer, some people might have a hard time because the window covers are way too thin and a lot of light will get in almost all the time. For the price paid though, it was still very much worth it, its just some details that could be important to some people.

I had a nice stay and I would definitely recommend it. Nice and peaceful location, easy access to transports. The room was large and had a comfortable bed. Private bathroom (mine was separate from the bedroom). The kitchen had all the basics for cooking your own means and there were also Laundry facilities in the property. The pre-check in forms outside booking.com felt a bit weird. But all went smoothly with my stay and the host was readily available on the messages to help with any questions.

At the time of my stay the blinds were non-blackout, which for me was not a problem, but I know it can be for some. I provided some feedback to the host who seemed really appreciative of it, so this might change soon.

Cozy room rental in a nice neighborhood

7.0

The neighborhood was very nice with some restaurants and shops close by. Volunteer Park and the fancy houses along 14th Ave are a good place for a walk. Host provided lots of helpful communication.

The walls seemed thin because I could hear people in the other rooms easily (walking, talking). That said - they do provide earplugs. Parking can be a hassle. I got lucky a couple times, but the second night was circling for 20 minutes. The bathroom could use hangers for clothes. Having to use codes to go in/out of both the bedroom and bathroom got old fast.

It was clean, safe and great location.

The ceilings and floors are thin to where you can hear everything going on above you.
