3.0Extremely disappointing experience. I haven’t encountered service this poor and slow in a hotel of this supposed standard for a very long time. Everything takes an unreasonable amount of time. I waited 45 minutes for a toothbrush, despite being told it would take 10 minutes. Even something as simple as ordering a coffee takes at least 30 minutes. The overall level of service is simply not what you would expect from a five-star hotel. The value for money is also very disappointing. In my opinion, this is a decent four-star hotel at best, certainly not a five-star experience. There is no spa and no swimming pool, and combined with the extremely slow service, I genuinely do not understand how this property is rated five stars. For the price and positioning of Virgin Hotels Edinburgh, I expected a completely different level of hospitality, efficiency, and attention to guests. Unfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations.
