Via Luigi Pirandello, 70, Taormina, IT
A mixed experience at Maison Blanche, but would still recommend because of the positives.
7.0Property location is great for morning sunrises, incredible views over the Taormina coastline and refreshing coastal breezes. The hostess (Giovanna) is AMAZINGLY helpful and friendly. There is parking access (though we needed Giovanna and her husband's help to negotiate getting out) and incredibly tasty and plentiful breakfasts. I cannot overstate how helpful and friendly Giovanna is.
− Unfortunately, during our stay, the air conditioning system was not working. As a result, the first two nights, we had to sleep with the windows open. Well, we did not know this, but Taormina (as well as many other Sicilian cities) has a lot of mosquitos, so we got pretty bitten the first two nights. The other problem on the second night was that the hotel just across the way played disco music until 2AM (it stopped promptly at 2AM), but that, combined with the mosquitos, made the second night almost unbearable. Our neighbors at the hotel complained about exactly the same things. After the second night, we raised the issues with Giovanna and she promptly responded by providing us with a fan for the room. That, combined with the fact that the music did not play, made the 3rd night VERY pleasant. So, if the air conditioning is not working, make sure you ask for a fan!! The other thing we discovered is that the accommodation is located about a 15-minute walk from the center of town either up stairs or a sinuous road. You can also take a local bus or drive (but parking is a problem once you get there). In our case, we walked for the exercise, but the second and third evenings, it rained pretty heavily and the road turned to a virtual river. This is pretty normal for these coastal Italian towns, but in our case, it prevented us from being able to get into town for dinner. Any hotel along the same route would have exactly the same problem, but it made us realize in this instance that a more centrally located hotel would have made it much easier to get around. Despite all of this, we would still recommend Maison Blanche as a place to stay.
Beautiful but feels like its getting run down. Smell in the room and lack of AC terrible.
3.0The view was beautiful and the hostess was lovely. Our room was large and the breakfast spread was great.
− 1. It was raining off and on and since they did not bring in the deep cushions from outdoor furniture, we could not sit on the balcony the entire stay. 2. Septic / sewer gas smell was very strong in room. Had to keep toilet seat down and bathroom door shut but it still smelled - strong. And could not open bathroom window because it had no screens and mosquitos were savage. This was horrible. 3. The AC was not turned on and since there are no screens on windows and mosquitos are savage we were very uncomfortable at night. We left the window open the first night to get air and got eaten alive. 4. Location is half way down mountain from Taormina, so could not simple step out onto the street of Taormina - either a very long hike climb up hill with hundreds of steps. Or a $20 cabride to the top and back down. There was bus service that we did not use.

10.0Staying at this BnB in Taormina was one of those experiences that stays with you. I was only there for one night, but I truly wished I had booked a longer stay. Giovanna and her husband made me feel completely at home — the kind of warmth that feels like staying at your mom’s house. Giovanna is incredibly attentive, quick to respond, and so detail‑oriented. On my first day, the entire city had an electricity blackout and I needed to work, but the WiFi was down. Her husband immediately offered his mobile hotspot, and Giovanna set up the terrace for me to work comfortably, even bringing me a glass of prosecco. The property faces Isola Bella, and the sunrise views were absolutely phenomenal — the kind of beauty you wake up early for without even trying. On the morning of my departure, Giovanna prepared breakfast early just for me. She made a full Italian and American breakfast feast and even packed a pastry for my journey. I can’t wait to return next season. This place is special.
An Amazing stay. Could have been our honeymoon
10.0It was really well located, clean and had beautiful views. The rooms were also spacious and comfortable. Giovanna and Franscesco went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed at all times including recommendations and providing chauffeur services. Can’t imagine staying anywhere else.

Location, view, staff, very comfy… 10/10
10.0Where can I start, location location is top. The view is phenomenal, the room is big and very comfy. We were offered to check in early which was a true bonus. Breakfast is true home made Sicilian. Everything about the place and staff was 10/10
