Great location terrible facilities

− The bathroom was unusable. Literally couldn’t sit on the toilet at all. Had to dry off in the shower. Terribly designed and yes I realize it’s a very old hotel. I’ve stayed in plenty of
Will definitely be back!
10.0The staff were very friendly and helpful. At check-in, I was given a free room upgrade to a room that contained a desk when I said that I was in Boston for work ... the desk was super helpful to me! Also, I was able to store my bags after check-out, so I didn't have to lug them to a work meeting. The on-site restaurants were convenient, and the food was delicious! And, the coffee shop/gift shop was convenient! Love my Starbucks!
− Nothing I didn't like!

8.0The location is great for walking to many things in Boston. The rooms are nicely refurbished but rather small. And although I booked two rooms of the exact same category and paid the exact same price, (Deluxe King Room), one room was definitely larger than the other. Because the hotel was 100% booked out we had no chance to try and find a larger 2nd room. The rooms should not have the same price if the size is noticeably smaller.

Because the hotel is famous, the location is central, and there is always something going on in Boston (Bruins/Celtics/Patriots all played within a 48 hour period!) the lobby is often packed and reminded me a bit of Grand Central Station. All things considered I doubt we will stay there on our next trip, so I guess that is the ultimate test.
