− Management of credit card charges for incidentals was appalling - not only was the amount much greater than the $50/day as explained, but the card was actually charged, rather than just being a guarantee. This was eventually corrected, but the fact that it happened was disgraceful.

2.0− To be fair, the Hyatt Regency Vancouver is a clean hotel in a great, convenient location. However, the overall management and customer care are deeply disappointing because it feels like the staff simply doesn't see the guest. First, at check-in, the front desk claimed I hadn't paid, ignoring my prepaid Booking.com reservation, and put a hold on my credit card. They didn't bother to check with Booking or follow up with me. Instead, it was only when I had to go back two days later, argue, and physically prove that I paid, that they finally fixed it on their end. They would have absolutely double-charged me if I hadn't taken initiative. It felt completely mechanical and careless. Second, after checkout, I left personal belongings in my room. The staff found them but never bothered to notify me, despite having my contact details. If they had sent a quick update that same day, I was still in Vancouver and could have picked them up. Now it is too late. It is sad that a high-end hotel with such a good physical property completely fails when it comes to basic, proactive human service. They look at systems, not at the actual guests. I do not recommend staying here if you value real hospitality.
